KCU is committed to provide our clients and suppliers with an exceptional level of service that differentiates ourself from competitors. This quality service is framed by KCU’s well defined systems, documented procedures and employee values.

There is a continual improvement philosophy at KCU which is promoted throughout the company. KCU uses an Improvement Reporting system, which continually enhances the effectiveness of its quality and management systems. The Quality Policy and Quality Management System is continually monitored and regularly reviewed. This is certified to ISO 9001:2008.

KCU operates under Cape’s Integrated Management System (IMS) and is triple accredited to Safety AS/NZ 4804, Quality ISO 9001:2015 and Environmental ISO14001: 2015

Environmental Policy

KCU is committed to being environmentally responsible when delivering operations, services and activities. Recognising KCU has a responsibility to provide effective environmental management strategies to preserve the land and its culture.It is recognised that many things can be done to minimise adverse effects on the environment whilst meeting the quality expectations of clients and providing a safe and healthy workplace for all.

Our goal is to integrate the safety and protection of the environment into our culture, thinking and operations. All employees are required to cooperate with and assist management in achieving these principles and improving KCU’s environmental performance.

In order to achieve this goal KCU will:

  • Make environmental protection of equal importance to other key operational and strategic business objectives;
  • Understand our environmental aspects and manage the impacts of our work practices on the environment;
  • Comply with relevant legal, client and other environmental obligations;
  • Implement and monitor environmental performance objectives and targets;
  • Educate and train workers on environmental issues and management;
  • Encourage reporting and investigating of environmental incidents, hazards and near misses;
  • Establish mechanisms to ensure environmental consultation and communication at all levels of the company;
  • Recognise personnel for their commitment and performance in relation to environmental impact;
  • Continuously implement and improve measure to avoid or minimise pollution, waste and other impacts to the environment;
  • Expect as high an environmental standard from all our suppliers, consultants and contractors as we would from ourselves; and
  • Communicate this policy to our people.

This policy is periodically reviewed to ensure KCU continues to provide environmentally sustainable outcomes that reflect the company values.
