Unique KCU Equipment
EcoPlough
The EcoPlough adopts a trenches technique installing cables or pipes of up to 315 millimetres in diameter. The cable or pipe is laid immediately behind a specifically designed ploughing blade at an installation rate of up to 1,000 metres per hour.
It delivers many benefits including increased safety with less personnel/heavy equipment interaction, reduced environmental impact from a reduced footprint and increased speed and cost effectiveness. There are 3 of these in the fleet.
Veltz 900
The Veltz 900 is equipped with a McElroy butt welding machine that is suitable for pipe diameter ranges between DN500 – DN900 and includes a 4000 Watt heater plate and a hydraulic facer. Its specific compact design perfectly fits into the cabin and easily operated.
It is the most advanced PE Butt-Welding Crawler suitable for all types of HDPE pipeline construction. It can also be configured for Fast Fusion Welding. To the best of KCU’s knowledge, there are only 3 of these machines in Australia.
